Special Needs Schools and Disabilities

Since 2012, I have been working in special needs schools and disability organisations in the United Kingdom and in Australia.

The feedback has been consistent that sound therapy with the didgeridoo has the following benefits:

  • Reduces stress

  • Brings a state of deep relaxation

  • Helps with emotional regulation

  • Reduces behavioural problems

  • Enhances student's focus and attention in the classroom

In 2025, Gregg delivered didgeridoo sessions to each of our nine classes within our specialist school setting, and the response from students was overwhelmingly positive.  His sessions were calm, rhythmic and thoughtfully paced, supporting sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing for students with a wide range of abilities and communication styles.  Students engaged in ways that felt right for them — some explored the instrument through touch, some moved closer to observe, while others experienced the sound and vibrations from a distance.  The combination of sound, vibration and Gregg’s gentle presence created a settled, focused environment, with every student fully immersed in the experience.

Gregg demonstrates a deep understanding of how to create safe, respectful and regulating experiences for students, making his sessions both meaningful and impactful.

We highly recommend Gregg’s sessions for schools and settings seeking a calming, inclusive and sensory-rich experience for their students.

Acknowledgement to Country

I would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land and in particular on which I live and work mainly being the Kaurna, Peramangk, Ngarrindjeri and specifically the Ramindjeri region.

I would also like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the yidaki, commonly known as the didgeridoo.   I do not profess to teach, use or practice healing methods used by the traditional owners and my use of the didgeridoo to help people to engage in their healing, therapy or recovery has come about through my own experience over the many years that I have been practicing.
